The Monarch of the Glen, the King of the Deer, In the UK the Red Deer is our largest deer, not only in body weight but also in antler size. Male Red deer are called Red Stags Red Deer is a native deer to the United Kingdom, and at one time in history most of the British Isles was home to this majestic animal.
It’s coat is a distinctive rusty red colour in summer turning to a brown winter coat. Large, highly branched antlers in the stag are the species most distinguishing feature. They are highly branched and the branches increase with age with multiple points on each antler.
