Not only are these birds hard to see, with the dapple feathers, but when driven down wind Grouse can reach speeds exceeding 70 MPH! Plenty of lead is needed to be successful when Grouse shooting, and remember to keep the gun moving. Grouse shooting is truely excellent shooting. No other Game Bird has its own national day, only the Grouse, "Glorious 12th of August!"
