Grayling Fishing
The Grayling, often the forgotten fish in some of our rivers, is also known as the lady of the stream. It has an elegant look about it, with an unmistakable large dorsal fin. The Grayling has a sleek herring shaped body with silvery scales.
As the Grayling spawn during the spring, which is the opposite to the Salmon and Trout, Grayling are best fished during the autumn and early winter months. When all our other game fish tend to almost hibernate, the Grayling bunch up into shoals, at the head of a pool, they are best fished using a nymph. If you find one Grayling there are always more to follow.
Because salmon and trout season is closed, you will usually have the river completely to yourself. Don't forget about the Lady, give it a go, you will be presently surprised!
