The Sir Joseph Nickerson Shoot

The number of Pheasants and Partridges are growing in Lincolnshire, as this Group of 4 Guns found out when they came to Rothwell. I guess like most people, the group expected to see flat fields of Brussel Sprouts, but were pleasantly surprised when they came across the rolling hills and valleys we have in the Lincolnshire Wolds.

It started off thick fog in the morning, but by the time 9 o'clock came most of the fog had lifted making the birds clearly visible when flying out of the cover crop, and there was alot to choose from. Both the guns and their loaders had their work cut out for them. During the day there was no shortage of top quality Partridges and high soaring Pheasants. A couple of the guns even ran out of cartridges, but we at Sportingagent.com always carry extra ones so we were happy to hand them out. Even with a team of only 4 guns, they had reached their target bag by the end of the third drive, but still had the extra fourth drive as a little bonus.

Not only did the 4 guns thoroughly enjoy their day, they've also happily booked to come back again next year. Watch out birds!
